The Point

What is the point of blogging? Well, for me, it is a complete way to journal my life history and the history of my family. And, if you know anything about me, you would know that I love completeness. Who would have known as a high school kid in 1981, when I was a faithful journal keeper in my "Dear Diary", that technology would have progressed to this.

When I think of journal keeping, I think of the prophet of the church when I was growing up, Spencer W. Kimball. He stressed the importance of writing your history down on a daily basis and I remember those teachings to this day. He said:

The Value of Keeping a Journal "People often use the excuse that their lives are uneventful and nobody would be interested in what they have done. But I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations. Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us—and as our posterity read of our life's experiences, they, too, will come to know and love us. And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted." President Spencer W. Kimball
